This is what I look like in the here and now. I still look like myself. I've always been afraid that I'd end up looking like a grizzled male wrestler. Probably not going to happen. I don't mind looking older, although the wattle tests me severely.
The most one can do with aging is dress up, get a decent hair cut, wear a little make up and stand up as straight as possible. Being funny helps. Although I've lost confidence in my ability to make people laugh. I find I am mostly the butt of the joke. This seems only fair. I used to make fun of aging parents myself. What goes around, comes around. Old age is about gulping down humiliation.

ReplyDeleteWell put. My thoughts exactly. I used to think old people were just always old. Now I realize, like me , they were young once and every day have to put up with a new wrinkle, sag, or ache. And there is so little to dress up for with Covid. But I do enjoy your blog posts
