This was my birthday week. It began last Wednesday with friends up in Weber and ended today with lunch with my friend, Ann, who knitted me socks, which is about as good as it gets. In between my real birthday flew by with temple work and preparing my gospel doctrine class (Amos and Joel) and then on Sunday, the kids came by and we had cake and ice cream and I blew out some candles.

I never know what to wish for anymore. That used to be the easiest part. But now I look at those candles and I don't have a clue. More stuff? Long life?

Linda, my visiting teacher, give me a fifties album, that I rock and roll to every day. Mostly I twist and move my butt around. It's very biophilic. Makes me feel young and hot.

Also during my birthday week, I visited the orthopedic surgeon and got a wrap for my ankle to relieve pain. If that doesn't work, I'll have something plastic made to fit around my ankle. And if that doesn't work, there's always more surgery. Inky dinky, pain is stinky.

Tom is off with Gordon taking photos in Bryce Canyon. Don't expect him back until late.

I think I miss my dog.

Recently I spent a week in a retirement home where my 83 year old mother resides. Those ladies in wheel chairs sitting idly hour upon hour still haunt me. For your birthday, I wish you an insatiable curiosity at the world.

  2. Happy belated birthday. I was in your English 195 (? Introduction to the English major... or something like that) when you broke your ankle and were on crutches back in... 1997 ish.

  5. Happy Birthday! Hope Tom gave you a foot massage. Maybe you don't like foot massages.

You miss Alice. I just know it.
