Arizona Dreams II

It's official, so I can blog it: Sam and Sarah and boys are moving to Phoenix, Arizona. By sheer dumb coincidence, they were there at the same time we were last week. So on Thursday, we spent a couple of hours looking at subdivisions in North Phoenix. There's nothing I enjoy more than looking at real estate. Except eating.

I am sad to see them go, but at the same time, I am happy for them. Change is energizing, scary, hard, character-building and fun. Like everything else in life, it's an oxymoron. It is looking forward and dreaming new dreams: like living in new houses with DISHWASHERS, and having ORANGE and LEMON TREES in your yard.

And, best of all, Scottsdale has SPRINKLES CUPCAKES, the best cupcakes ever made. What can be bad?

We drove home in tandem (sort of) and stopped at Hoover Dam (see pics) to ooh and ahh over that magnificent man-made achievement. The new bridge is no small stuff either.

Anyway, I'm dreaming Arizona dreams. I will go back again and again and buy a dipped cone at every DQ along the way.

  1. Tell Sarah to move to Gilbert. Higley Groves is the very best neighborhood, and I can tell her all about every school in our area; I'm an expert, with all the sub teaching I do and whatnot:) But if north Phoenix is her desired location, Moon Valley is AWESOME. So exciting!

  2. Katy, Sam's working at American Express which is at the north side. He doesn't want to commute for more than 20 minutes. I'll let them know about Moon Valley. We went and looked at Arrowhead Lakes. That's the only one I remember. Loved Arizona!
