For 52,000 euros or about 75,000 dollars you can buy a modern two bedroom, two bath apartment overlooking the Black Sea in Varna, Bulgaria. Varna IS The Pearl of the Black Sea.
White beaches, bikinis. Learning the Bulgarian language for all those other countries you will travel to where they speak Bulgarian.
I think someone should move here and blog about it. I think one of you out there should do this NOW.
Vic lived in Bulgaria for a few years. We've been back several times, always with a stop in Varna, at "Golden Sands." WE LOVE IT. I guarantee if you move there, you are the only American around (the natives will guess you are German). And while the language is pretty useless, you can communicate (sort of) with the Serbs and Russians. Ahh, I want to go back.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Very tempting. I will be in France for the fall, maybe I'll have to stop by Bulgaria. I just think of Rowling's sully Victor Krum when I think about trying to speak Bulgarian ("Her-me-one?").
ReplyDeleteI might be able convince my husband to do this. He served his mission in Bulgaria and has gone back a couple of times on assignment with the military as an interpreter. I'm sure I could at least get him to take me there on vacation; he's told me about the one time he got to go to beach in Varna (while on his mission) at least a dozen times :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind VISITING there . . .
ReplyDeleteVery tempting, however, I need to have fewer children living in my home before I take the leap.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to lose a lot of weight and then practise wearing no bathing suit tops. It could happen.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the Bulgarian men like?
