I notice that lots of people post favorite recipes, so I thought I'd post one for a facial peel. All natural ingredients and will make your face smooth as a baby's bottom:
Unscented glycerin soap or (sorry about the spacing, I can't fix it)
Unscented castile liquid soap or
Non-soap cleanser: Cetaphil Cleanser
Baking soda
Pineapple or
Papaya, ½ cup mashed
2 Lemons
Jojoba oil
◦ 1
Tie back your hair with a hairband. Thoroughly cleanse the skin with a gentle glycerin soap, castile liquid soap or a non-soap cleanser such as Cetaphil (or its identical generic).
Leave your skin slightly moist.
◦ 2
Dab a small amount of jojoba oil around the eyes, nose and mouth to protect these sensitive areas from the AHAs, or if you have sensitive skin.
◦ 3
Mash one-half cup of fresh pineapple or papaya fruit in a non-reactive ceramic or stainless steel bowl.
Do not substitute frozen or canned fruit.
Add the juice of two lemons, removing any seeds. Combine well.
◦ 4
Apply the fruit acid peel to clean skin evenly. Sit or lie back for at least 15 to 25 minutes.
You can apply cooled chamomile tea bags over the eyes to reduce puffiness.
◦ 5
Rinse the fruit acid peel off completely.
If you want to boost the effect of your peel, do a quick face scrub. Apply two tablespoons of baking soda mixed with one-quarter cup of filtered water to the skin and gently scrub. Rinse. Moisturize lightly with jojoba oil.
Which one do you prefer: the glycerin soap, castile liquid soap or Cetaphil?
ReplyDeleteLook at you Spa Diva! I'm a big fan of Cetaphil and glycolic acid. My face needs a lot more moisturizer these days. What I really want is the hairless part of the baby's bottom. I'm growing a beard! Blonde, but still visible especially on these frosty mornings.
ReplyDeleteSarah, I use plain old soap and Alveeno. Not at all fancy.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you need Nair!
