Yesterday

It's over. The shortest day of the year, December 21st, is gone. More sun each day. Well, if you can call that milky globe the sun, shrouded in pollution as it is. The dark side of living in this valley is the inversion. Never underestimate its effect.

My antidote for this doom and gloom was to sign up for a watercolor class with Marian Dunn, who is one of the positive forces in the universe. The first class was last night and it was fabulous. Marian Dunn is like a rock star. Sunshine everywhere in her studio.

Also, I'm teaching two classes of Freshman Composition at UVU beginning in January. Retirement is taking on a new shape. I'm liking it.

  1. I'm happy to hear the darkest day is over.

Lucky UVU Freshmen! They don't have a clue how good they're getting it. I'm jealous.

  3. Will you listen to public radio or book tapes or just your own voice on that commute?
