What Tom had

Some of you want to know what was wrong with Tom and if he is okay. He had vasovagal syncope (he fainted) which can be caused by a number of triggers: hot baths and dehydration being two. He has had these episodes before, but has never fainted dead away. He leans to low blood pressure anyway, so he's more susceptible to these events.

Of course, I know this NOW. Next time, I won't call the ambulance and he will lie down on the bathroom floor so blood can more easily find its way to his brain.

  1. A few months ago my husband had a medical issue which FREAKED ME OUT TREMENDOUSLY. (I hate the term "Freak Me Out", but I was.)

Issues. Medical. Mortality. Fitness. Health. Simple Bugaboos. Not-so Simple bugaboos.

    Ugh.

No one mentioned this chapter as we happily and gleefully signed the wedding papers.

  2. So the question that I have--since he was in the bath, was he naked when he passed out? I mean, if I were passed out naked, I'd like my husband to at least put a robe on me before calling the ambulance. And possibly arrange my limbs so I don't look all askew. There are things far worse than death.

  3. He was naked under his robe. I put bottoms on him before the ambulance arrived
