What I want for Christmas that I can't have . . .

1. a red Fiat 500.

2. a working right foot.

3. a suitcase full of cash

4. meals on wheels

5. a facelift

6. a week in Breukelen, the Netherlands

7. a five-minute chat with my father (Where are you? What are you doing?)

8. a five-minute chat with my mother (You are in my head all the time).

9. a Dutch accent

10. a sudden and lasting brilliance

  4. hi louise! my husband and i were walking down the street the other day and he asked me about you. and it made me curious. so i googled you. and found your blog just now. i love reading your entries. i miss you! we just moved to manhattan's upper west side in october and i was hoping you were in the city too. oh well! i'm happy you're enjoying SLC.

  6. If you get that car, come pick me up. Do you remember taking me for a drive in your Miata in January with the top down and the heat blasting. My fish (Mimi, the neglected) had died at your house while I was home during the break and we were trying to feel better about it.
