At age 12. Wowser dowser.
Elizabeth Taylor in a towel.
It's 3:24 a.m. Tom and I can't sleep, so he is now playing Ms. Pac Man and I
am looking at an article in the L.A. Times listing the 50 Most Beautiful Women in Film. One of them is Blake Lively (above). She's lovely, but she is listed before Elizabeth Taylor, who in her
prime was off the charts, mythically gorgeous. She was more beautiful than Jennifer Connelly, who also is listed earlier.
And I am sputtering to Tom about the idiots who put this list together and put Elizabeth Taylor behind the likes of Joan Crawford. Joan--Mommy Dearest--Crawford? People, what were you thinking?
And then I read that they are listed in alphabetical order.
Oops.
It's hard to believe the woman at the Grammy's with the oxygen mask is the same beautiful heroine in National Velvet.
ReplyDeleteWowser Dowser Ms. Elizabeth Taylor!
ReplyDeleteForgive me for in advance for my ramblings, but I've been couped up in bed for 3 days with a fever. Here goes... I think Blake Lively is total hottie. I had to go find this article to see who else was on the list. (http://www.latimesmagazine.com/2011/02/50-most-beautiful-women-in-film.html). I have to be honest on this one. Liz Taylor doesn't do it for me. That list has some steep competition and Liz Taylor is mid pack at best. Katherine Zeta Jones, Salma Hayek. Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman are pretty stunning too. Just so I don't appear bias to the younger generations, what about Audrey Hepburn or Rita Hayworth? Very easy on the eyes. AND J-LO!. Yep, that Liz Taylor is middle of the pack.
ReplyDeleteOkay this post made me laugh. Here's something else that makes me laugh: whenever the Fug Girls talk about Blake Lively on their fashion blog, they always refer to her as Boobs Legsly. Good times.
ReplyDeleteHonestly,
ReplyDeleteI think the win goes to Grace Kelly, Rachel Weisz or Natalie Portman.
I don't think Liz Taylor is all that and a bag of chips.
I did a google search because I was curious if you had a blog and I was rewarded! I don't know if you remember me...I took several of your writing classes at BYU over 15 years ago. I was Thelma Dahl then, from the middle of nowhere Nevada. Now I'm Thelma Davis from the middle of cloudy skies Seattle. I have wonderfully fond memories of your writing classes. They were the highlight of my college years.
ReplyDeleteThelma, you were the only Thelma I ever had as a student. How could I forget a girl, named Thelma? I remember saying to you on the first day, "You must be named after a grandmother!"
