The Artist

If you have avoided seeing The Artist because it's a silent film, or because you think it might be pretentious, or that it couldn't possibly be as good as all the critics say it is, then RUN DON'T WALK to your nearest cineplex and have a couple of the most pleasurable hours of your life. The characters, script, pacing, cinematography are perfect. The dog is perfect. Yes, there's a dog. The mix of humor and pathos is perfect.

I don't remember the last time I was so happy after watching a movie. I can't wait to see it again.

Go. You'll thank me.

  1. This is encouraging!
(I'm more conscious of my explanation points because of you.)

  2. I will go. Maybe I will take my daughter, instead of trying to convince my husband to go. Thanks for the review, Ms. Ebert.
