She was a whopping 9 pounds and is 22 inches long. That face is David Kamerath's if ever I saw him. This is a good thing, because David has a sweet face. Sam sent us a short video showing the nurse cleaning her up. Baby girl cries with outrage. I imagine it is hard to be born.
Welcome to the world, baby girl. Welcome to father and mother and brothers that will surely tease you, but also bring their friends around. Welcome to running and jumping, swallowing and blinking. Welcome to wiggling your toes and making a fist.
Your grandparents welcome you, as do your cousins and aunts and uncles. Olive and Oscar, the Bostons, welcome you. Winnie the Pooh and the Stinky Cheese Man welcome you.
Lots of things to look forward to, but especially shoes. It's a picnic of shoes here. Some days you won't be able to look up from your feet because of those lovely shoes.
Ooo. How sweet and adorable and I love the shoe bit. So true. Even baby shoes are incredible.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and love all around - to all of you. So happy for you. Please share baby girl's name. xxoo J.
ReplyDeleteYou just burp poetry when you feel like it. No fair. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget nursing my first baby. Her ear was the exact size of a quarter. I've forgotten many things, but I'll never forget looking down and seeing that fuzzy tiny ear.
Yayyyyy, baby cousin Sally! Yay yay yay. Can't wait to hold you and make goo goo faces.
ReplyDeleteAh! The scent of a new baby. And fuzz-head. And softness not of this world.
ReplyDeleteI could go on and on...
Oh, I love this girl.
ReplyDeleteI want a baby now, especially a baby girl. Congrats, Sarah and Sam!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI want to plagarize what you wrote here for every baby's birth. So fresh. She is lovely.
