The ferris wheel at Liberty Park

I'm pretty sure that this is the first ferris wheel I rode.  I rode it more than once under social pressure from peers, but I didn't like the way my stomach turned coming down from the top.  Sickening.

Yesterday, Tom and I walked through the Park, which always makes me feel like a ten-year old, and sat on a bench watching the ferris wheel.  It creaked.  Yay, verily, it screeched as it turned.  This does not build confidence in the equipment.  That ferris wheel must be a hundred years old and it sounds like it.

Would you ride a creaking ferris wheel?

  1. My favorite ride at Lagoon is the wooden roller coaster. Wood seems scarier than state of the art metal. But I haven't been there for a while. They may have updated it. I hope not. I want to take my kids and point out how the coaster is wood and question how it can hold on this weight as we speed down the track...

  2. The white roller coaster cracks like none other. I think I could handle a ferris wheel.

  3. I took Jackson on that Ferris wheel recently. He didn't really appreciate it as much as I thought he would. It creaked around and around for a good five minutes. He wanted off.
