Happy New Year--2013

So here we still are.  The Mayans weren't any smarter than the rest of us.  The country is saved from financial disaster at the last nanosecond, and retailers are crying into empty cash registers because consumers didn't buy everything in sight this year.  People continue to kill each other with little cause.

And yet the full moon shone this past week through silvery, falling snow and our elevator was filled with people carrying casseroles covered in aluminum foil to parties with friends and family.  Fireworks enthralled children and adults.  Tom and I toasted each other with apple juice in his mother's gold-
ringed goblets.

Ring in the new year; ring in life with all it's beauties and possibilities.  Ring in new babies, new shoes, new books, new wrinkles, new hardships.  Ring it all in!  We are human and confused and we welcome the new year with faith in renewal.

Happy New Year!
