The grandma doll

Yesterday I received a box in the mail from my niece, Rachel, and it wasn't my birthday or anything.  It was a grandma doll with me as the grandma. A good likeness, except it has no arms or legs.  Rachel made it and if you look at the first pic, you can see that she twisted the material into neck creases.  It wouldn't be me without neck creases.

Last night, I slept with the doll.  Who wouldn't want to sleep with that face and rounded bottom?  You can spin her like a top or make her fall over.

I fall over myself sometimes.  Two nights ago, I tripped on my laptop cord and smashed my head into the wall.  I felt as stupid as a grandma doll, like I had quilt stuffing for brains.  But as you can see, both of us keep smiling.

Thank you Rachel.  I love her.  I love her, because she's so creepy.  Is there a message there?

  1. It's extra creepy sans arms and legs. Rachel, you weirdo.

  3. How do you make a doll like that - I think it's great … just like who it's modeled after.

  4. I just LOVE it! I'm trying to figure out if it's because it's of you that it's so cool or if it would work with other people (me, for instance), too. I think you're a big part of the magic, Louise.
