It's over

Christmas is over, and it turned out to be a lovely day. We made short visits to our two local families and they were high on Christmas cheer, playing video games, putting together even more Legos, wearing robes from Anthropologie and feeding us melted brie and pear sandwiches. Oooh yes, thank you. George talked non-stop as if he were announcing a horse race.

Sam bought a used, electric Fiat 500 for city driving. Elliot, who will be driving it, called it a "grandma car." Excuse me, Mr. Man! It's your grandma's car, but most grandmas drive large boxy cars to keep them safe. I drive it, because it makes me feel young. And it's cheap. And I like that creamy green color that looks like something out of 1936.

Rise up, Elliot, and be exceedingly glad. You live in America and your parents bought a car for you to drive! You could be somewhere in the world leading a mule and caring for goats! I sing the Fiat 500!

And guess what else is over? The winter solstice. Booga booga booga. Everyday, it gets lighter. Every single day.

And guess who gets the next round of Covid shots? Really old people. Us. Then we're getting up and driving somewhere. Anywhere, USA.

Here's a shot of Sally's baptism this year. It's iconic:
